Fine Wine Paintings by Ruth Moses
About the Artist
“Fine Wine Paintings” creates richly colorful, passionate paintings that incorporate wine labels taken right from the bottles of the finest American and International vintages.
To create each unique work, I first painstakingly remove the wine labels from the bottles, then decoupage them to the canvas and paint a wine-based theme around them. The labels, each a work of art in itself, peek around and through luminous wine bottles, sparkling glasses, bread, cheese and fruit: everything that has been part of the wine experience for millennia.
My passion for creating these paintings began when I was in France. After attending Hartford Art School and the Heatherly School of Fine Arts in London, I had the opportunity to tour Europe, sketching and painting from original masterpieces in some of the world’s finest museums. Eventually I was drawn to the Côte d’Azur of southern France, where for some time I lived in a cabanon in a vineyard near Ramatuelle and learned to prune and tend the vines for local vintners.
As you can imagine, each Fine Wine Painting takes an extremely long time to produce, limiting my overall production. To enable more lovers of art and wine to purchase these paintings, I have located an exceptionally fine producer of archival giclees, the highest type of fine-art print. Each archival Fine Wine Painting giclee is an extremely durable gallery-wrap canvas that has no staples on the sides and is ready to hang or frame at your preference.
For more information about a specific painting, simply click on the image. When viewing pricing, you’ll notice that you have a choice of canvas. Museum-wrap giclees have either white or black edges. The edges of gallery-wrap giclees mirror the color of the painting.
Shipping is included in the price. And of course your satisfaction is completely guaranteed.
